Watson Children’s Shelter
There has been a group of volunteers spending one Saturday a month with the children at the Watson Children Shelter for many years. There they play and have lunch with the kids, often doing something special for whichever holiday is near. This is a very special act of service since these kids have been through many different situations like abuse, neglect, abandonment or other family crisis. They cherish the time to be able to play and laugh with people who care about them. Not only do we spend one Saturday a month just playing with the kids, but we also contribute a large number of volunteers to their largest fundraiser, the Bike for Shelter.
Darvin Rush facilitates the monthly volunteer times, and his heart for the kids at the shelter is evident in his dedication to making those Saturdays a highlight of their month. Currently this group volunteers one Saturday each month, but this can change due to holidays, so please refer to the calendar or contact us for or more information.
The Missoula Food Bank
Sean and Becca Everett head up our efforts to help the local food bank. Every week our members bring dry/canned food items to our Midweek service and then the Everett’s deliver them to the Missoula Food Bank. It is a great opportunity for us to try and help meet the needs in our community.
If you have any non-perishable food items that could be donated to the Missoula Food Bank,
please bring it to Midweek Service and place it in the green bin located in the lobby, thanks!
